White Bean Hummus
DIETITIAN RECIPE -
The best part about making your own hummus is you can adjust the flavor and texture to fit your desired taste. If you want more garlic, lemon, or seasoning you can sample your hummus and add your favorite ingredients accordingly.
1 can Clearly Organic Great Northern Beans, drained and rinsed
3 Tablespoons tahini
3 Tablespoons Clearly Organic Olive Oil
Juice of 1 lemon
1 clove of garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon Clearly Organic Onion Powder
1/4 teaspoon Clearly Organic Ground Pepper
Dash of Clearly Organic Paprika as a garnish (optional)
Place ingredients in a food processor and blend until desired consistency is reached. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. If you plan to use your hummus as a sandwich spread you might want a thin consistency. If so, add water one tablespoon at a time sampling as you go.
White bean hummus goes great with fresh-cut vegetables and pita chips. A spreadable hummus is perfect for sandwiches, wraps, and works as a healthy substitute to mayo in chicken salad.
